McDonald Hill is nestled in the Chittering Valley, less than an hour from Perth. You'll find local wineries, dining, roadside produce stalls and walking trails just minutes away, while still feeling a world away from the everyday.

McDonald Hill has been designed exclusively for two guests. Both guests must be aged 18 years or over.

All guests staying at or visiting McDonald Hill must be aged 18 years or over. Unfortunately, we’re unable to accommodate children or infants.

Pets are not permitted. This helps us protect our resident farm animals and the local wildlife that call McDonald Hill home.

Your stay includes a heated and cooled plunge pool, private sauna, Roaring Meg fireplace, queen bed with luxe linen, kitchenette and coffee machine, outdoor BBQ and entertaining deck, telescope for stargazing, Smart TV and Wi-Fi.

You'll also arrive to a welcome pack featuring local red wine, farm-fresh eggs, local honey and fresh bread.

Your chalet includes a bar fridge, two-burner gas cooktop and outdoor BBQ, along with pantry staples, tea and a Nespresso coffee machine with pods. Just remember to bring your milk.

You’re welcome to bring your own food and drinks, or make things even easier by adding our Farmhouse Pack and Grazing Platter to your booking and have everything waiting for you when you arrive.

Prefer to head out? Nearby dining options include Stringybark Cottage Winery & Restaurant and Landing 7.

If you get caught short, Woolworths Bullsbrook is an easy stop on the way out, and we normally keep a small emergency stash of essentials on site too.

Golden Hour is your chance to meet some of the McDonald Hill residents.

Join Jack by the paddock to meet and feed our Highland cows, donkey and alpacas as the sun begins to set over the valley. We usually feed the animals between 5:00 pm and 5:30 pm each afternoon, and guests are welcome to join in.

Participation is completely optional, but it's one of our favourite parts of the McDonald Hill experience.

The Hilltop Soak is our outdoor wood-fired bath at the hilltop lookout, available as an optional add-on to your stay.

As it is wood-fired, availability is season permitting and subject to fire restrictions. During periods when the bath can’t be used, guests are still welcome to walk up to the lookout, take in the views or enjoy a picnic at the top of the hill.

Access is via a steep walk over natural, uneven terrain. Please read our Accessibility Information before booking to make sure the walk is suitable for you.

Our animals are part of the McDonald Hill farmstay experience, and the property isn't open to the general public for animal visits.

To meet our Highland cows, donkey and alpacas during Golden Hour, you'll need to book a stay at McDonald Hill.

Check-in is from 2:00 pm and check-out is by 10:00 am.

Early check-in and late check-out may be available depending on bookings. Please contact us before your stay and we'll do our best to accommodate your request.

McDonald Hill is for registered guests and approved visitors only. If you'd like to have a visitor during your stay, please contact us in advance for approval.

All visitors must be aged 18 years or over. Gatherings and parties are not permitted.

Cancellations made 14 days or more before arrival receive a full refund.

Cancellations made between 7 and 14 days before arrival are non-refundable but may be transferred once to alternative dates, subject to availability. Any difference in accommodation rates will apply.

Our long-term vision is for McDonald Hill to become a space for intimate weddings and events. While we're not currently taking event bookings, you can join our mailing list to be the first to hear about future weddings and events at McDonald Hill.
